D4D Project Squads

  • Education: The Education Justice Squad works to explore and address widespread educational injustice through uplifting the words, experiences, and guidance of BIPOC educators and educational activists. By connecting people with well-researched and accessible resources, actions, and services, the Education Justice Squad works to disrupt and dismantle educational injustice on individual and community levels within the WLC and beyond. Moreover, our goal is to support marginalized voices in finding joy and fulfillment in learning, which involves being open and creative in our approaches and work. This means listening to, accepting feedback from, and centering marginalized voices throughout the connection and learning process

  • Crafty Circle: The Crafty Circle is a crafting squad, centered around the Done For DiDi WLC Community Agreements. Members meet bi-weekly to brainstorm, craft, and workshop projects. These folks are creators and crafters at varying capacities and skill sets, working with various mediums. The goals of this squad include amplifying Black creators & crafters, crafting for reparations, and building anti-racist community. Some events the Crafty Circle has hosted include Done For DiDi’s Fall & Winter Craft Fairs. We aim to find more ways to share skills and resources around crafting and creating

  • Abolition:  The Done For DiDi Abolition Squad supports efforts led by Black women and marginalized genders (MaGes) to transform the way communities address harm, develop alternatives to the prison industrial complex, and to support those who are most impacted by the carceral system, particularly Black MaGes.  We coordinate pen pal projects, phone zaps, book clubs, prison card blasts, and other actions which seek to dismantle the racialized harm of incarceration and policing and to build a just and transformative world rooted in Black feminist liberation. As it stands, mass criminalization doesn’t address the root of the problem and takes us further away from truly healing as a collective. We believe it is possible to build a society that can truly heal, with effective ways for people to change and make amends—without brutality.

  • Disability & Health Justice: The Disability and Health Justice Squad is a working group within the #DoneForDiDi White Labor Collective. Our Squad is dedicated to understanding and dismantling ableism and healthcare inequality as they intersect with racism, classism, anti-fatness, and all other forms of oppression. Our projects aim to center disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, and/or mentally ill Black and Brown MaGes and engage the collective in honest discussions about addressing ableism in ourselves and our communities
