Shared Labor Collectives
2023 marks the expansion of the WLC into regional Shared Labor Collective (SLC) chapters across America. Unified by the Community Agreements, the SLC chapters will allow for nimble, segmented activism to occur with a specific focus on supporting local organizers and promoting anti-racist learning and action. The SLC chapters will share the WLC programming as organizers collaborate with the Restore National leadership team to curate regional programs that directly put the principles of reparations into practice.
Restore National runs three areas of programming that seek to decolonize learning and resources, help mitigate the social disparities of health in communities of color, and establish the non-profit as an arts and culture center for social awareness. Local organizers can select from nearly 20 programs and projects by determining which of the WLC programs align with their principles and needs. The first SLCs will be in Connecticut, Michigan, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington D.C.
